PFAS Removal From Your Family’s Water With One Efficient System

Water all over the country has frequently been positive for lead, cysts, and PFOA/PFOS, and our area is not exempt. These chemicals have been found to exceed the levels set forth by health advisory organizations and may cause health problems.

Eighteen million Americans live in communities where the water systems are in violation of the law. As a matter of fact, the federal agency in charge of making sure those systems are safe not only know these issues exist, they’ve done little to stop them, according to information provided by CNN, which cites multiple sources and water experts.

Our goal is not to scare but educate our local community about water quality is a top priority. We’ve worked with many local families to improve their water and to provide peace-of-mind, knowing the water they drink and bathe in is free of harmful contaminants.

Contact us today to learn more about our professionally installed and serviced drinking water system that removes PFOS contaminants. Fill out the contact form or call (517) 888-0868!

What are PFAS, PFOA, PFOS and What’s The Difference Between Them?

In a nutshell, PFAS stands for per- and polyflouralkyl substances, which are synthetic chemicals used to make everyday products we all use (your cell phone, your non-stick pans, some food packaging, most things that used to be made at 3M are made of PFAS). PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid, also referred to as C8) and PFOS (perfluorooctane sulfonate) are simply two types of PFAS, and the difference between the two is the number of carbon atoms in the chain of polyflouralkyl. GenX is also considered a PFAS contaminant.

These chemicals have been around for almost 80 years when they started being manufactured in the 1940s. Unfortunately, a lot of chemical waste ends up being dumped in the water supply we drink from. Imagine 80 years of chemical waste contaminating the water we use every day.

The Water Quality Association (WQA.org) tells us exposure to PFAS can happen when we eat food grown in soil contaminated by PFAS or drink water that has been contaminated and not properly filtered out. It can also be released through the household products we use to clean our homes.

Some potential health risks of PFAS exposure are cancer, a weakened immune system, fertility issues, low birth weight for infants, abnormal levels for cholesterol and thyroid hormones, and inflammation of the liver. Other health-related issues are still under research.

How Can I Know I Have Safe Drinking Water?

If you want to know if the water in your area is affected by PFAS contamination, check out the EWG PFAS map below of known areas affected in the United States click here to see the map of known areas affected in the United States.

Tri-County Water also offers free water tests to homeowners in the Jackson area. Call (517) 888-0868 to schedule your free water test now!

Our Solution:

PFOA and PFOS chemicals are bio-permanent, resistant to direct oxidation, and do not break down naturally in the environment or the human body. Tri-County Water provides a unique system, to successfully remove these chemicals and is installed where the water line enters your home or business.

Our systems have been tested and certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 58 by NSF International, and not only removes sediments and PFAS contaminants but also eliminates odors and improves taste – giving you bottled quality (or better) water right at your tap.

Figured I would give a review now after having bought a... EcoWater Water Softner from them about 3 months ago. Had pretty hard water in Mason that they tested for 35 gpg. They had two people out to install the water softner and were able to answer my many questions I had about it then. Initially after getting it installed we had a lot of milky looking water for about 3-4 days or so that just eventually went away. It appeared to all just be tiny air bubbles that would float up after 30 seconds of sitting and the water looked clear after. Not sure if that was normal and caused by the water going through the softner for the first time or something else since they had put in some new water pipes but was just something we noticed. Never called them to find out. Tested our water with a Hach water test kit and it is less then 1gpg currently. Still noticed a little build up of that chalky residue from the hard water on the sinks for about a month or so after, but it definitely does not seem to be building up much anymore. I am sure that will continue to get better the longer we have it and continue running soft water through our pipes. But overall it was a good experience and I don't think I would have any issues if I ever needed maintenance done on it or any further work from them down the line.read more

Received $39 water softener tune up coupon in mail. 8/10/21... first guy admitted he new nothing about my Pentair water filtration system. 2nd guy came out later that day and did "tune up". From that point on water slowly started turning red and had a smell to it. By 10/13 it had gotten so bad that I called for service again. Technician supposedly fixed problems but water kept getting redder. 10/30 called original installer from 2017 and he had problem completely fixed in 1 service call. Got refunded my money and good customer relations have been restored.read more

My girlfriends water softener went out. She called a... company, came out, scribbled on piece of paper with the quote. She called them, and never called back. Her plumber said to call Tri County. The owner came out around 9 am and had a better system, which cost more then the other company and was installed at 12 noon that day. Very professional. Do not call the companies that are a franchise type.. Waste of your time. You pay for what you get.read more

Tri County Water on Wildwood in Jackson, MI has OUTSTANDING... service! Leave it to me and my husband to pull in just as they were closing up shop. As we began to pull out, Kyle swooped around in his truck and asked if there was anything he could do to help! He proceeded to get us our 3 jugs, we paid, and were on our way. He certainly didn't need to do that, but he did! Maintaining friendly, energetic, kind customer service during these crazy times can be tough, but Kyle made sure to go out of his way to make sure we got what we needed. The Hunt family THANKS YOU!!read more
