PFAS Removal From Your Family’s Water With One Efficient System

Water all over the country has frequently been positive for lead, cysts, and PFOA/PFOS, and our area is not exempt. These chemicals have been found to exceed the levels set forth by health advisory organizations and may cause health problems.

Eighteen million Americans live in communities where the water systems are in violation of the law. As a matter of fact, the federal agency in charge of making sure those systems are safe not only know these issues exist, they’ve done little to stop them, according to information provided by CNN, which cites multiple sources and water experts.

Our goal is not to scare but educate our local community about water quality is a top priority. We’ve worked with many local families to improve their water and to provide peace-of-mind, knowing the water they drink and bathe in is free of harmful contaminants.

Contact us today to learn more about our professionally installed and serviced drinking water system that removes PFOS contaminants. Fill out the contact form or call (517) 888-0868!

What are PFAS, PFOA, PFOS and What’s The Difference Between Them?

In a nutshell, PFAS stands for per- and polyflouralkyl substances, which are synthetic chemicals used to make everyday products we all use (your cell phone, your non-stick pans, some food packaging, most things that used to be made at 3M are made of PFAS). PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid, also referred to as C8) and PFOS (perfluorooctane sulfonate) are simply two types of PFAS, and the difference between the two is the number of carbon atoms in the chain of polyflouralkyl. GenX is also considered a PFAS contaminant.

These chemicals have been around for almost 80 years when they started being manufactured in the 1940s. Unfortunately, a lot of chemical waste ends up being dumped in the water supply we drink from. Imagine 80 years of chemical waste contaminating the water we use every day.

The Water Quality Association (WQA.org) tells us exposure to PFAS can happen when we eat food grown in soil contaminated by PFAS or drink water that has been contaminated and not properly filtered out. It can also be released through the household products we use to clean our homes.

Some potential health risks of PFAS exposure are cancer, a weakened immune system, fertility issues, low birth weight for infants, abnormal levels for cholesterol and thyroid hormones, and inflammation of the liver. Other health-related issues are still under research.

How Can I Know I Have Safe Drinking Water?

If you want to know if the water in your area is affected by PFAS contamination, check out the EWG PFAS map below of known areas affected in the United States click here to see the map of known areas affected in the United States.

Tri-County Water also offers free water tests to homeowners in the Jackson area. Call (517) 888-0868 to schedule your free water test now!

Our Solution:

PFOA and PFOS chemicals are bio-permanent, resistant to direct oxidation, and do not break down naturally in the environment or the human body. Tri-County Water provides a unique system, to successfully remove these chemicals and is installed where the water line enters your home or business.

Our systems have been tested and certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 58 by NSF International, and not only removes sediments and PFAS contaminants but also eliminates odors and improves taste – giving you bottled quality (or better) water right at your tap.

Jeff came out and tested the water. He explained what... equipment i would need and answered all questions i had. NO PRESSURE sales, which is a huge plus for me. I hate pushy sales people. After I scheduled the install. It was very quick and the installers were great. Asked questions to verify all was correct and did an excellent job of installing it. Highly recommend.read more

Very quick. Everything works properly. Salesman was a... little pushy. “Payment Plan” was made out to seem like they are the ones who are in charge. When in reality you just get a loan through some 3rd party company. So once you get it, they can’t help you with it at all. Then the company they go through you can only do online payments and they charge you for you. If you can avoid having a “payment plan” or loan. Do that.read more

Our experience with Tri-County Water was highly... satisfactory. The sales representative Ben was extremely cordial and quickly evaluated our water with the old system and offered up solutions. The installers were awesome as well, and very knowledgeable about the Eco Water system that they were installing. They were very efficient and professional with the installation. If the new water softener system lasts as long as our old system we got a "Home Run" so to speak! A very positive experience with Tri County Water of Jackson. Thank you!read more

If you're in need of a new water softener, or any other... maintenance, you really don't need to look any further than Tri-County. If you're looking for professional and honest people to do with business with, this is the place.I didn't fully know what to expect when we moved into our new house, but TCW explained everything that our house needed, as well as other elements that weren't as necessary. I appreciated how the options were laid out to us, which made us feel comfortable in choosing the best fit for our family's needs.TCW was patient with our busy work schedules and found us a time that worked well. The installation took around an hour and the installer was just excellent to work with over the whole process.Overall, I am thrilled to have TCW as a part of our home and am looking forward to continued future business. Thanks, Dan!read more

UPDATE:Tri-County just left and did a wonderful job of... making everything right. My techs were professional, courteous and cleaned everything up when they left. My only reason for the 4 star rating is that the job wasn't done right the first time, and we had multiple issues. I WILL use them in the futureJOB: Install 1 whole house carbon water filter system. After hearing really good things about this company, I was looking forward to a positive experience. Sadly, it was anything but... First off, I hate people who can't stick to schedules, or communicate properly. I know things happen but at least show some courtesy and tell me you're running behind. They were 2.5 hours late, and I finally had to call the office to find out where they were. Once they arrived they didn't go over what they planned on doing, they just jumped right in. I was holding the back door for them to bring their stuff in and out when one of the guys brings my FOUR DAY OLD water softener up from the basement. He was shocked when I asked what the heck he was doing with it because he "thought" they were replacing the whole system. By the time I made it downstairs to follow up on what they were doing, they had the new filter system installed and had placed it in a position that my wife absolutely hated. The installers blamed the confusion on a poorly written work order. From my perspective, they should have covered what they were going to do with me from the beginning. After several calls, we were able to straighten things out and Lindsay did offer up some compensation for the poor service. I know that everyone has a bad day once in a while. However, this experience reinforced my low opinion of the typical Jackson Contractor. Would I use them again? At this point I don't know. My advice? Make darn sure you go over every detail with them BEFORE they start work and avoid the headaches I did.read more

I needed help with my well and water softener on a... Saturday. I didn't expect to hear back from anyone until Monday, but Jeff called about an hour later to see what he could help with. After determining that I was way out of his service area, Jeff walked me through a couple of troubleshooting issues to see if they could help. Jeff also offered to come out if I wasn't able to find someone locally. He also contacted me about a week later to make sure I was able to get my system fixed. This is customer service at its finest.read more
